About us

IFPI Finland (The Finnish National Group of IFPI) is the national trade association representing circa 24 record producers in Finland. The members range from major international record companies (EMI, Sony BMG, Universal, Warner) to small independent record producers.

IFPI Finland is non-profit organisation financed by its members. The members have ca 86 % market share of the total music market in Finland.

IFPI Finland's role

IFPI Finland's goal is to ensure favourable operational environment for the recording industry in Finland. This is achieved by improving recording industry's cultural political status, securing effective legislation to protect the recording industry's interests and improving the competitive environment.

Who can be a member of IFPI Finland?

Any company or firm which produces sound recordings or music videos, which are commercially or otherwise made available to the public, can be a member of IFPI Finland.

IFPI Finland, in Finnish Suomen Ääni- ja kuvatallennetuottajat ÄKT ry, short version ÄKT ry, is the Finnish National Group of IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry), which is the International Trade Association of recording industry worldwide.
